In case you have missed the discussion on Discord, here are the new Xigncode/PA security features and how to deal with them:
- User ID and history seem to be stored in your BlackDesert folder, and Xigncode/PA now use this ID to implement bans. This means that bans are now user-ID-based and not account-based. As such, if you ever do get banned, you will get banned continuously until you uninstall the game and/or delete the BlackDesert folder. This is the folder in C:/Pearlabyss by default. Ideally, we avoid bans in the first place, but if you do receive one, make sure to delete this folder. I also recommend deleting all Pearlabyss/BDO folders in AppData and in Documents. Do NOT log on any other accounts until you have deleted these folders.
- Xigncode/PA may implement stricter ID checks in the future, in which case you may consider using a spoofer, as well as deleting the folders.
- Xigncode found some common bytes in most people's Speeders and was able to ban people using Speeder around July 13th. These bytes were in functions the compiler added to the program (i.e., bytes I did not manually add to the program), so I unfortunately did not catch them. To remedy the issue, every possible function in the program is now randomized, including all the ones added by the compiler. This may somewhat degrade the performance of Speeder, but it will secure Speeder against pattern scanning in the future. Version 215 (soon to be 216) has this implemented.
- Within 24 hours, I will be implementing a completely new security feature that randomizes the communication between Speeder and the driver. I do not believe this is a detection vector in any game I support, but it's always been a concern of mine.
- With that, I believe the only thing to worry about, once again, is server detection. I am very sorry for any bans you have experienced, especially because we did not realize the folder issue until just recently, and thank you to all who have helped.
